Biography
Melody Schreiber is a health contributor/reporter at Guardian US and contributing editor at The New Republic, with a focus on health, science, and the Arctic. Previously she served as D.C. correspondent for ArcticToday from 2018 to 2023, covering politics, science, and security in the circumpolar region. Before her journalism career she worked as a program manager and communications director at the International Reporting Project (IRP) and as an assistant editor at the Woodrow Wilson Center. Her work has also appeared in The Washington Post, Wired, The Atlantic, NPR, and STAT News, among others. She held a food systems reporting fellowship with Johns Hopkins University in 2024 and an IWMF fellowship covering health and gender in Rwanda in 2019.
