Who Dr Georgia Richards is

Dr Georgia Richards is an epidemiologist and the Founder and Director of the Preventable Deaths Tracker (PDT), based at King's College London. She holds an AI+ Academic Senior Fellowship jointly in the Dickson Poon School of Law and the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine at KCL, and is a Senior Associate Tutor at the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on improving the safety of health and social care by understanding how to prevent premature and avoidable deaths using coroners' and sheriffs' Prevention of Future Deaths reports. She has provided written and oral evidence to Parliament, including the Justice Select Committee's follow-up inquiry into the Coroner Service in February 2024. She holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford (2021) in the epidemiology and safety of opioids, and a BSc with First Class Honours in Pharmacology from the University of Queensland.
