Biography

Alan Anthony Wilson is His Majesty's Senior Coroner for Blackpool and Fylde, based at the Municipal Buildings, Corporation Street, Blackpool. He is also appointed to cover the areas of Liverpool and the Wirral, Sefton, Knowsley and St Helens. As Senior Coroner he conducts inquests into sudden or unexplained deaths and, where evidence warrants it, issues Regulation 28 Prevention of Future Deaths reports to public bodies including the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS trusts, the Care Quality Commission, and the Department for Education. His PFD reports have addressed concerns spanning hospital clinical management, care home deaths, mental health inpatient care, children's social care, and drug- and alcohol-related deaths. He has been quoted in press coverage scrutinising the conduct of public bodies in high-profile cases, including the death of child Preston Davey.
