Who Alex Perry is

Alex Perry has been Chief Executive of Nuffield Health, the UK's largest healthcare charity, since September 2024. Nuffield Health operates 37 hospitals, over 110 fitness and wellbeing centres, and a range of community health programmes across the UK. Before joining Nuffield Health, Perry spent more than 16 years at Bupa, latterly as CEO of Bupa UK Insurance, where he led record growth in customer numbers and a full digital transformation of its service offering. He holds an MBA with distinction from INSEAD and a degree from the University of Oxford. Perry has publicly argued that independent sector capacity is sufficient to clear the NHS diagnostic and treatment backlog, and that the principal obstacle is funding rather than willingness or capability. He has also set a target of delivering £2bn in cumulative social value through Nuffield Health's free health improvement programmes by 2030.
