Biography

Amy Blakemore is Matron for the Sepsis and Outreach Response Team (SORT) and ICU rehabilitation at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Walsall Manor Hospital. She joined the SORT team at its formation in early 2022, initially as a Critical Care Rehabilitation Senior Sister before progressing to Matron. The team is made up of senior nurses with critical care backgrounds who identify and treat deteriorating patients across the hospital. Blakemore has been the Trust's public-facing lead on Martha's Rule Call for Concern, speaking to the importance of patients and families being heard when they raise concerns about clinical deterioration. She also presented at the Healthcare Conferences UK national conference on the deteriorating patient in November 2024.
