Who Elaine Clancy is

Elaine Clancy is a trained adult, paediatric and A&E nurse who joined St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals as Interim Group Chief Nursing Officer on secondment in September 2025, while retaining her substantive post as Chief Nursing Officer for NHS South West London Integrated Care Board, a role she took on in July 2023. In March 2026 she was appointed Chief Nurse and Quality Officer across both South East London and South West London ICBs. Prior to the ICB role, she served as Chief Nurse at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust from 2019, where she was responsible for midwifery, allied health professionals, quality and infection control, and spearheaded the trust's COVID-19 response. She has more than 30 years of NHS experience spanning frontline emergency nursing, community services, NHS commissioning, and senior leadership roles at major London teaching hospitals. She is known for championing nursing quality, patient safety and integrated care across south London.
