Biography
Jamie Brown, RN, is one of four co-presidents of National Nurses United (NNU) for the 2024–2027 term, elected to the organisation's Council of Presidents alongside Nancy Hagans, Cathy Kennedy, and Mary Turner. She concurrently serves as president of the Michigan Nurses Association, one of NNU's affiliate bodies. NNU is the largest union and professional association of registered nurses in the United States, with approximately 225,000 members, and is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. Brown is a practising bedside nurse and has testified before the US Congressional Progressive Caucus in favour of a Medicare for All single-payer health care system. She is also a prominent advocate for mandatory safe nurse-to-patient staffing ratios and for federal legislation to address workplace violence in health care settings.
