Biography

Dr Jayne Spink is Translational Research Director at Prostate Cancer Research (PCR), a UK charity that funds medical research projects at leading institutions across the prostate cancer field, from early-stage science to drug development. She holds a BSc in Genetics and a PhD from Cambridge University and spent her early career as a post-doctoral molecular and cellular research scientist. Before joining PCR she served as a principal scientist with the Department of Health focusing on genetics, genomics and gene therapy, and as Associate Director of the Centre for Clinical Practice at NICE. She was previously Director of Policy and Research at the MS Society, the first ever CEO of the Tuberous Sclerosis Association (for five years), and subsequently CEO of Genetic Alliance UK, the national charity working to improve the lives of patients and families affected by genetic conditions. At PCR she is known for championing early-stage prostate cancer diagnosis, supporting commercial translational research, and co-leading the charity's prostate cancer data registry work.
