Who Richard Angell is

Richard Angell OBE has been Chief Executive of Terrence Higgins Trust, the UK's leading HIV and sexual health charity, since March 2023. He joined the organisation in 2020 as interim Head of Policy and Public Affairs before becoming Campaigns Director and then Chief Executive. A graduate of the University of Birmingham, he previously served as Director at think tank Progress and worked with political leaders in both the UK and Australia. He is known for arguing for ending new HIV cases in England by 2030, and has publicly called for scaled-up HIV testing, improved PrEP access, and action on persistent inequalities in sexual and reproductive health. He received an OBE in the 2024 King's Birthday Honours for services to charity.
