Who Amy Davey is

Amy Davey MSc is the Senior Reconstructive Scientist (and lab manager) at North Bristol NHS Trust's Reconstructive Prosthetics service, based at Southmead Hospital. Her profession is formally recognised as Maxillofacial Prosthetics, encompassing the design and manufacture of bespoke facial and cranial prosthetics. She was among the first registered Clinical Scientists in Reconstructive Science and continues to train Reconstructive Science students through the Scientific Training Programme with the South West Consortium. She has published research on manufacturing techniques of titanium cranial plates, and works with global engineering company Renishaw on patient-specific 3D additive-manufactured implants and surgical guides. She has been a prominent voice on the clinical and operational development of the Bristol 3D Medical Centre, which provides 3D scanning and printing services for prosthetics across the South West and nationally, and has publicly argued for a national centre of expertise to share training and reduce NHS costs.
