Dr Chris Streather has served as Regional Medical Director and Chief Clinical Information Officer for NHS England's London region since May 2022. He previously held senior roles including Chief Medical Officer of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust group from 2018, Chief Executive of the Royal Free Hospital in 2017, Chief Medical Officer of HCA International, and Managing Director of the Health Innovation Network, where he led on patient safety nationally. He began his career as a renal physician in Brighton, London and Cambridge, was appointed a consultant at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 1997, and became its Medical Director in 2004. He is known for his interest in population health, reducing health inequalities, and reducing unwarranted variation in clinical care, and has publicly championed transparency in NHS waiting-list data to address inequalities across London.
