Who Dr Hamilton Morrin is

Dr Hamilton Morrin is a Psychiatry Registrar at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and a Wellcome Trust Doctoral Fellow at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London, where he is based in the Department of Psychosis Studies. He is joint lead of the LAMBDA (Looking After Minds and Brains in the Digital Age) research group, focusing on the mental health impacts of AI chatbots, and is lead investigator for the BRaVE-FND study exploring neurofeedback-based rehabilitation in functional neurological disorder. He also holds an honorary Psychiatry Specialty Registrar role at the Queen Square National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, seeing patients with neuropsychiatric disorders. He trained in medicine (MBBS) and medical genetics (BSc Hons) at King's College London and holds MRCPsych from the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is publicly known for arguing that AI chatbots can co-create and amplify delusional beliefs in vulnerable users, and has called for AI literacy to become a core clinical competency and for companies to implement safeguards against delusion-validating responses.
