Who Dr Kathy McLean is

Dr Kathy McLean OBE is Chair of the NHS Derby and Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board cluster, having previously served as Chair of the NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire ICB and Integrated Care Partnership and, from May 2024, of NHS Derby and Derbyshire ICB. She also chairs the NHS Confederation's Integrated Care System Network board, a role to which she was elected in late 2023. Earlier in her career she was Executive Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer of NHS Improvement, and before that Medical Director of the NHS Trust Development Authority for three years up to 2016, as well as Clinical Transitions Director helping to build what became NHS England. She trained as a consultant physician specialising in geriatric and general medicine, serving as a consultant at Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust from 1994 to 2009 and later as its Medical Director, and was awarded an OBE in the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours for services to leadership across the NHS.
