Biography

Dr Rachna T. Shroff, MD, MS, FASCO, is Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology and Associate Director of Clinical Investigations at the University of Arizona Cancer Center (UACC), where she also holds the inaugural John F. and Valli S. Duval Endowed Professorship for Gastrointestinal Oncology. She is a tenured Professor of Medicine and Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Research at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. She came to UACC from MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she was on faculty from 2010 to 2018 after completing her medical oncology fellowship there. Her research focuses on clinical and translational investigation in pancreatic and hepatobiliary cancers, and she led the landmark SWOG S1815 trial — the first randomised phase III trial in newly diagnosed advanced biliary tract cancers in the United States. She served as Chair of the 2024 ASCO Gastrointestinal Cancers Symposium and was named Healio Woman Disruptor of the Year at the 2023 ASCO Annual Meeting.
