Biography

Ruth Brown has been Chief Executive of Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust since December 2021, having previously served as Executive Director of Strategy and Operations and Deputy Chief Executive at the Trust since 2017. She leads an organisation of more than 4,000 colleagues providing physical and mental healthcare and community services for children and young people, with an increasing focus on health inequalities. She has spent her entire career in the NHS, working in regional and local organisations in both provider and commissioning roles. Nationally, she co-chairs the Children's Hospital Alliance — a collaboration between eleven specialist children's NHS trusts in England — and is lead CEO for the South Yorkshire Acute Federation and the Children and Young People's Alliance. She has spoken publicly on child poverty, health inequalities, and the development of the National Centre for Child Health Technology at Sheffield's Olympic Legacy Park.
