Who Tim Naor Hilton is

Tim Naor Hilton is Chief Executive of Refugee Action, an independent national charity that provides advice and support to refugees and asylum seekers in the UK and campaigns for a fairer asylum system. He joined Refugee Action in 2002 as a frontline development worker in Manchester, progressing to Area Manager in Greater Manchester and then Head of Asylum before being appointed Chief Executive in April 2021. Prior to becoming permanent CEO, he was a critical part of the Senior Leadership Team, setting up the Good Practice and Partnerships Team and the Experts by Experience groups in Manchester and Bradford. He is known for arguing that asylum accommodation actively harms the health of people seeking protection, and has publicly challenged government policy on asylum housing standards and the profiteering of private contractors. He has committed publicly to ensuring his successor as chief executive will be a person with lived experience of the asylum system.
