Who Tim Shand is

Dr Tim Shand is a practitioner, researcher, and social entrepreneur focusing on health, gender equality and development, and is Co-founder and Director of ShandClarke Consulting Ltd, a UK-based consultancy advising international organisations on gender equality and global health. He holds a PhD from the UCL Institute for Global Health, where his research focuses on men's engagement in sexual and reproductive health rights, particularly in Southern Malawi. He has more than 15 years of professional experience implementing SRH programmes, research, and policy advocacy through senior roles at the WHO in Geneva, the International Planned Parenthood Federation in London, Sonke Gender Justice, and Promundo. He is an Associate of the Men's Health Forum UK and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and is known for arguing that men's sexual and reproductive health needs are systematically underrepresented in global policy and service provision. ShandClarke's project portfolio includes 'Men's Sexual Health Matters', a campaign on men's sexual and reproductive health, and the firm led the research underpinning the 2024 Global Action on Men's Health report 'Out of Focus', which examined the representation of men in regional and global SRH policy.
