Biography
Dr Vicky Price is an acute medical consultant at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and currently serves as President of the Society for Acute Medicine (SAM), the national representative body for staff caring for medical patients in the acute hospital setting. She has clinical interests in ambulatory care, medical education and end of life care in the acute setting. As SAM President she is a regular commentator in the national press — including BBC News and The Guardian — on NHS emergency department pressures, corridor care and hospital capacity. She has publicly raised concerns about the regulation of online weight-loss drugs after observing serious complications in acute patients, and escalated those concerns to the MHRA. She has also commented on the implications of the abolition of NHS England for urgent and emergency care services.
