Who Volodymyr Nedohoda is
Volodymyr Nedohoda (also transliterated as Nedogoda) is the founder and head of Victory Beats, a Ukrainian charitable organisation established in 2023 to develop and deliver music therapy for people affected by the war with Russia, including veterans with disabilities and survivors of captivity. Victory Beats operates music therapy sessions and retreats at rehabilitation centres across Ukraine, including in partnership with the Superhumans war trauma centre near Lviv, and has engaged over 150 musicians and DJs from around the world. Nedohoda also co-created the EnterDJ programme, which uses recreational DJing as a therapeutic tool for veterans. He has been quoted in The Guardian about the use of music and electronic music as non-verbal therapy for soldiers with severe war trauma.
“We were working with a 25-year-old soldier with severe brain damage and limited use of his hand. We started with a [sound-based] relaxation session designed to calm the nervous system, but stopped almost immediately because the low frequency triggered pain. When he started to feel better, he asked for a DJ console.”
