Biography

Dr Youssef Abd Al-Hamid Al-Takrouri is the General Director of Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron, the largest private hospital in the West Bank, which is affiliated with the Patients' Friends Society. He also serves as President of the Palestine Hospitals Union (Private and NGO sector). In August 2026 he was quoted in UK press when the Scottish charity Kids Operating Room opened the first dedicated paediatric operating room at Al-Ahli Hospital, a project involving 3,000 pieces of equipment. He has spoken publicly about the long waiting lists for paediatric surgery in the West Bank and the operational constraints caused by shared surgical facilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic he served as a member of Hebron's Higher Emergency Committee and helped establish a dedicated COVID-19 testing laboratory at the hospital.
