03  Profile

Who Charis Chambers is

Dr Charis Chambers is a US-based, board-certified OB/GYN and fellowship-trained paediatric and adolescent gynaecologist. She is known online as 'The Period Doctor'.

She launched that social media platform in summer 2019 because she saw an unmet need for medically accurate women's health information and for minority physician representation on social media. Clue, the cycle-tracking app, appointed her as its Chief Medical Officer. In that role she works with Clue's in-house science team on educational content, expert commentary and myth-busting about reproductive health.

She trained at Spelman College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and completed her OB/GYN residency at Greenville Memorial Hospital in 2018. She is the author of 'The Period & Puberty Parenting Revolution'. She argues for honest, age-appropriate conversations about puberty and periods, and for free access to information about people's bodies.

I found no UK-specific role or UK head-office details for her, so the organisation's postcode and town are left blank.
