Biography

Chris Steele is the Founder and Editor of myTribe Insurance Experts, an independent consumer information website dedicated to private healthcare and insurance in the UK, based in Bournemouth, Dorset. After working as an insurance and risk specialist at Lloyds TSB in London, he moved into technology and business information systems before beginning to write for insurance companies in 2015. In 2020 he identified a gap in the market for an independent view of the private medical market and set about creating myTribe. He holds the Cert CII Certificate in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute, having completed his IF1, IF7 and I10 certifications in August 2023. He is regularly cited in national press — including The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, the Daily Mail and the Mirror — on topics such as NHS waiting lists, the cost of private health insurance, and consumer options for bypassing NHS delays. He has argued publicly that millions of people are awaiting NHS treatment and need clear, independent information about their private healthcare options.
