Biography

Dr Maëva May is a policy professional working at the intersection of health research and system reform. Since September 2023 she has served as Associate Director of Systems Engagement at the Stroke Association, overseeing research funding, policy, and partnerships to improve stroke care. Before joining the Stroke Association she was Head of Policy at the British Heart Foundation, working on research, prevention, and health policy. Earlier in her career she held strategic roles at the National Institutes of Health in the United States, with a focus on advancing women's health research. She is an alumna of the Academy of Medical Sciences FLIER programme and has been quoted in UK press coverage on stroke policy and care.
