Biography
Dr Tony O'Sullivan is a retired consultant paediatrician, formerly specialising in childhood disability in Lewisham, who has served as co-chair of Keep Our NHS Public (KONP) since December 2015. KONP is a national campaigning organisation opposed to NHS underfunding, privatisation and service cuts, with local groups across England. He was a founding member of the Campaign for the NHS Reinstatement Bill from June 2014 and has been vice-chair of Health Campaigns Together since April 2018. He is a member of the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign, which in 2013 successfully took the then Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt to court to prevent the closure of the local A&E and acute hospital. He is regularly quoted in national media—including the Guardian, Morning Star, LBC, Talk TV, BBC and Sky News—arguing against NHS privatisation, private-sector profiteering from NHS contracts, and underfunding of the health service.
