Dr Dev Patel is the founder and medical director of Perfect Skin Solutions, an award-winning aesthetic medicine clinic based in Southsea, Portsmouth. He qualified in medicine, surgery and genetics from Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals in 2000, subsequently serving nine years as a medical officer in the Royal Navy before entering aesthetic practice full-time in 2014. He holds postgraduate qualifications including the Diploma in Practical Dermatology and is a full member of the British College of Aesthetic Medicine. He is known for his public commentary on cosmetic procedure regulation, patient safety in aesthetics, and the use of evidence-based approaches to skin health. He also teaches other doctors on behalf of the Primary Care Dermatology Society and founded the CellDerma skincare brand and Perfect Skin Academy practitioner training facility.
