Who Prof Geeta Nargund is

Professor Geeta Nargund, Baroness Nargund FRCOG, is a British physician, professor and women's health campaigner known for pioneering natural and mild IVF and Advanced Ultrasound Technology in Reproductive Medicine. She founded Create Health Foundation in 2000 — renamed Health Equality Foundation in September 2025 — a charity aimed at promoting research, raising public awareness, and tackling gender, socio-economic and BAME health inequalities through evidence-based research and policy recommendations. She served for over three decades at St George's Hospital NHS Trust as Senior Consultant Gynaecologist and Lead Consultant for Reproductive Medicine, retiring from that role in December 2025, and founded CREATE Fertility and abc IVF. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific papers and is Co-Founder and President of the International Society for Mild Approaches in Assisted Reproduction (ISMAAR), advocating for safer, less drug-intensive and more accessible fertility treatment. In January 2026 she was created Baroness Nargund of Wimbledon and Tooting as a Labour life peer, appointed by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer; she is also an Authority Member of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority and Honorary Professor of Women's Health at City St George's, University of London.
