Dr Joann Diray-Arce is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and an Affiliate Faculty member at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. She leads the Data Management and Analysis Core (DMAC) within the Precision Vaccines Program (PVP) at Boston Children's Hospital, where she specialises in systems immunology and computational biology. She leads and co-investigates multiple NIH-funded programmes characterising vaccine- and infection-induced immune responses across international and multi-centre consortia. She served as lead of the Clinical and Data Coordinating Center for a landmark NIH-funded Nature study of COVID-19 biomarkers across 1,154 hospitalised patients, which linked dormant-virus reactivation to long COVID. Her work on the Immune Data Resource — a curated compendium of systems vaccinology datasets spanning 53 cohorts and 24 vaccines — has been widely cited in the field of precision vaccine development.
