Who Ofer Levy is

Ofer Levy, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and board-certified paediatric infectious disease specialist who directs the Precision Vaccines Program at Boston Children's Hospital and holds a professorship in Paediatrics at Harvard Medical School, and is an Associate Member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. The Precision Vaccines Program applies precision medicine principles to vaccinology, conducting basic and translational research to develop next-generation vaccines and therapeutics tailored to vulnerable populations including infants, older adults, and the immunocompromised. Levy received his MD and PhD from New York University and completed his paediatric residency and fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Boston Children's Hospital. He served as a voting member of the US Food and Drug Administration's Vaccines and Related Biological Products Advisory Committee (VRBPAC), participating in the Emergency Use Authorisation and approval of COVID-19 vaccines. He has more than 200 publications and a Google Scholar H-index of 74, and has been quoted in international media including the BBC, the New York Times, and Scientific American on vaccine policy and immunology.
