Biography

Katharine Jenner is a Registered Nutritionist who joined the Obesity Health Alliance as Director in 2022, having spent fifteen years at Consensus Action on Salt, Sugar and Health (CASSH). She led the establishment of Action on Sugar and previously served as CEO of Blood Pressure UK; she is also Interim-Chair of Sustain and Chair of the Children's Food Campaign. The Obesity Health Alliance is a coalition of more than 50 organisations working to prevent obesity-related ill-health by influencing government policy on overweight and obesity. She gave oral evidence to the House of Lords Food, Diet and Obesity Committee in February 2024 and has publicly argued that obesity policy failures stem from reliance on individual behaviour change in a food environment that works against people. She has called for mandatory food industry health reporting, restrictions on HFSS advertising, and stronger regulatory action on the food environment.
