Biography
Dr Renae Fomiatti is a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society (ARCSHS), in the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. She conducts qualitative research on the social, cultural, political, and gendered dimensions of alcohol and other drug use, treatment, health, and recovery. Her research is informed by contemporary feminist theory, feminist science studies, and Science and Technology Studies. She is known for work on take-home naloxone, addiction stigma, and the social dimensions of performance and image-enhancing drug (PIED) use, particularly among women. Prior to her current role she held an Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Sociology at Deakin University, where she was also an Adjunct Research Fellow at ARCSHS.
