Andrew Nicholas Jehan

Andrew Jehan has served as Connétable of St John since first being elected to that seat in 2021. He served as Assistant Chief Minister in 2022 to 2023 and as a member of the States Employment Board during the same period. He went on to serve as Minister for Infrastructure and Assistant Minister for Sustainable Economic Development from 2024 to 2026. He currently chairs the Comité des Connétables and sits on both the Privileges and Procedures Committee and the Planning Committee, all since 2026.

Standing for re-election in 2026, Jehan emphasised his commitment to parish-focused service and pledged not to seek a ministerial appointment if returned to office. His specific commitments included progressing the provision of right-sized housing in the parish, delivering amenity spaces in Sion, and completing a long-awaited Memorial Garden. He also highlighted the importance of continuing his weekly parish drop-in sessions as a means of keeping St John residents connected with their Connétable.

    Jehan was sworn in for the 2026-2030 term on 12 June 2026, giving only a ~16-week window before the assessment date; 'outstanding' reflects absence of evidence rather than failure. The Sion Village affordable-housing development (37 homes by Ashbe Construction) received planning approval in May 2024 with a projected completion of early 2026, and the plans included a parcel of amenity land to be gifted to the parish, but no independent source confirms the homes or the amenity space were delivered or handed over. The Memorial Garden near the Parish Hall had already been characterised as 'long awaited' in Jehan's 2022 manifesto and no evidence of completion or a formal proposal lodged in the new Assembly term was found.

    By April 2026, near the close of the 2022–2026 term, the Parish of St John submitted a planning application on behalf of Connétable Jehan to redevelop agricultural Field 371 (La Rue Gombrette) into a landscaped public space featuring gardens, a pavilion, a pétanque court and new planting — incorporating public-consultation feedback to retain the Cenotaph in situ, giving the scheme a clear memorial/remembrance dimension. As of May 2026 the application had not yet been determined, and no independent source reported a finished or approved memorial garden during the term. The wider community-garden project was therefore at planning-application stage when the 2022–2026 Assembly ended in June 2026.
