Data sources

Every dataset used across this site, by section, with a link to its primary source. For how these sources are turned into scores and rankings, see the methodology.

Scorecard: promises & voting record

“In the news” coverage

Member news links are drawn from a fixed allow-list of Jersey outlets: Jersey Evening Post (jerseyeveningpost.com), Bailiwick Express (bailiwickexpress.com), BBC (bbc.co.uk), ITV Channel (itv.com) and Channel 103 (channel103.com). AI delivery verdicts additionally cite the States Assembly record, and every verdict names its evidence inline on the member’s page.

Balance the Budget

Political-survival layer

Every fiscal baseline in the budget tool is a published figure from P.70/2025, and each department’s lines reconcile to the Budget’s own totals. The price elasticities behind the behavioural model, and the poll-rating and re-election projections behind the political layer, are Bridgehead’s own assumptions using ordinary published ranges rather than Jersey measurements; the page sets out what it models and what it does not.

Economy

Derived measures on the Economy tab are Bridgehead’s own calculations from the sources above; each chart’s source note on that page states the exact method and its caveats.

Information Freedom & Transparency

Jersey publishes the volume of Freedom of Information requests received, but no receipt date for an individual request, so - unlike Guernsey - there is no response-time or outcome breakdown to report. The Information Freedom tab explains this gap in the States’ own terms rather than inferring figures it does not publish.

Corrections

If a figure on this site doesn’t match its source, or a source has been superseded, we want to know. Contact Bridgehead Communications and we will review and correct it. Every correction made so far is listed, named and dated, on the corrections log.

Who builds this

The Jersey States Member Scorecard is built, paid for and maintained by Bridgehead Communications, a PR, public affairs and reputation consultancy. No member, party, States committee or campaign funds it. Nobody pays to appear on it, and nobody pays to have an entry corrected.

We publish it to showcase the best of Channel Island politics, and to help readers see the vibrancy, and sometimes the sheer grind, behind the contributions made in the chambers of both Guernsey and Jersey.
