Chris Rebindaine was first elected to the States Assembly in June 2026 as a Deputy for St Mary, St Ouen and St Peter. Since 2026 he has served as a member of the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel, the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel, and the Children, Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel.
Rebindaine campaigned on a platform he described as "Healthy Jersey," organised around fiscal discipline, economic vitality, land and water stewardship, and population wellbeing. His principal pledges included reducing the effective tax burden for most islanders to below 20%, putting government through a four-year reduction in both scope and spending, and pushing to build the new Acute Hospital once public finances are stabilised. On the economy, he committed to resisting the importation of unnecessary UK regulations in favour of locally tailored business rules, and to developing a joined-up tourism strategy linking transport, hospitality, heritage and local produce. He also pledged to revitalise Jersey's agricultural sector to strengthen food resilience and support agri-tourism, to seek a pragmatic resolution to the DFDS freight and travel situation, and to promote physical activity in schools and better-aligned sports governance.
Rebindaine spent forty years in Jersey's finance industry before serving as a Senior Investigator at the Law Officers' Department, experience he cited as the foundation for the common-sense, fiscally grounded approach he brings to the Assembly.
