Gabriel Raimondo was first elected to the States Assembly in June 2026 as Deputy for St Brelade. Since 2026 he has served as a member of both the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel and the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel.
Raimondo campaigned on the high cost of living in Jersey, economic diversification and transport. Among his specific pledges, he committed to pushing for the removal of regulatory and planning barriers that prevent lower-cost supermarkets from entering the island, and to supporting the removal of GST from food essentials. On energy, he would push for regulation requiring solar panels, good insulation and heat pumps as standard in new builds. He also pledged to extend bus services with longer hours, more frequent routes, and to develop a connected island-wide cycling network. At parish level, he committed to ensuring St Brelade's rates deliver value through road maintenance, anti-speeding measures and park improvements.
Raimondo has lived in St Brelade his whole life and cited that experience as informing his awareness of the pressures driving islanders, particularly young people, to consider leaving the island permanently.
