Lee Carpenter was elected as a Deputy for St Helier Central in 2026, representing Reform Jersey. Since entering the States Assembly that year he has served as a member of the Public Accounts Committee, the Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel, and the Health and Social Security Scrutiny Panel.
Carpenter campaigned on the affordability pressures facing islanders, arguing that stagnating wages, soaring rents and the rising cost of living have made Jersey unviable for too many residents, particularly younger people and families. Among his most significant specific pledges, he committed to pursuing the removal of GST from essential items, advocating for measures to help renters save for housing deposits, working to tackle unaffordable childcare costs, and pushing for steps to help Jersey graduates return to and settle on the island.
Outside politics, Carpenter has worked as a Research Analyst in Jersey's finance industry, holding professional qualifications in Green and Sustainable Finance and Climate Risk.
