Mary-Rose (Moz) Scott

Mary-Rose (Moz) Scott was elected as Deputy for St Brelade in 2022, having previously stood unsuccessfully for a seat as Senator in 2018. Before her election, she served voluntarily on the States Assembly's Public Accounts Committee and on Jersey's statutory statistics watchdog, experience that shaped her focus on government accountability and decision-making. She did not continue into the 2026–2030 Assembly.

For the 2022–2026 term, Scott campaigned on improving government decision-making and delivering practical benefits for St Brelade parishioners. Her principal pledges included applying her legal and planning expertise to protect and enhance the living and working environment in the parish, and promoting the How programme — a proposition framework she had helped develop — as a means of enabling the States Assembly to make better-informed decisions and implement improvements without unnecessary delay.

Scott qualified and practised as a lawyer in London and then Jersey, retiring as a partner from a leading local law firm. She subsequently ran a leadership training business and worked on a writing project. She also chaired the St Brelade's Bay Association, where she campaigned voluntarily for public enjoyment of the Bay and its visitor economy, and drafted planning propositions during a policy review that resulted in further restrictions on residential expansion on the Bay's seafront.
