Serena Kersten

Serena Kersten was first elected to the States Assembly in June 2026 as a Senator, representing the island-wide constituency. Since 2026 she has served concurrently as Assistant Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, Assistant Minister for Infrastructure, and Assistant Minister for Education and Lifelong Learning, alongside membership of the Privileges and Procedures Committee.

Her 2026 campaign centred on improving Jersey's performance through stronger accountability, better teamwork across government, and making the island more affordable for ordinary families. Among her principal pledges, she committed to reducing the cost of living by increasing competition and enabling cheaper providers — in groceries, transport and financial services — to operate in Jersey.
