Biography

Anthony E. Brissett, MD, FACS is a double board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Houston, Texas, who serves as Vice Chair and Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital and as a Professor of Otolaryngology at Weill Cornell Medical College. He received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, completed residency at the Mayo Clinic, and completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Minnesota. He was installed as President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) — the world's largest specialty association for facial plastic surgery — on 20 September 2025, for a two-year term. He is internationally recognised for clinical work spanning rhinoplasty, facial rejuvenation, trauma reconstruction, and complex facial surgery, and has commented publicly on trends including the shift from injectable fillers toward surgical options, the growing gender balance in cosmetic procedures, and the influence of GLP-1 medications on facial aesthetics. He has also served in humanitarian surgical programmes in Rwanda, Bangladesh, Ghana, and Ukraine.
