Change in an employee's annual social security contribution under the tax reform package (£)

How an employee's annual social security contribution changes under the approved tax reform package against the 2026 rules, by annual earnings, on 2026 limits. Employees earning below about £88,500 pay less; those earning more pay more, up to £1,966 more at the upper earnings limit.

Read this with the chart: Bridgehead arithmetic on the rates and allowance in policy letter P.2026/49, using 2026 limits for both rule sets. Employee contributions only: employers pay more at every earnings level. It is not a 2028 payslip, because the limits will be uprated before the package starts in 2028. The vertical axis does not start at zero.
