Weekly care-home co-payment and residential care benefit, 2025 terms (£)

What a resident pays and what the Long-term Care Insurance Fund pays towards a residential care-home bed each week, January 2025 to January 2030, in 2025 terms. The co-payment rises from £342 to £514, and the fund's share falls by the same amount from July 2025.

Axis starts at £200, not zero

Read this with the chart: From Appendix 2 of policy letter P.2025/113, in 2025 terms. The total standard rate for a residential bed is held at £1,179 a week from July 2025, so each January and July step moves cost from the fund to the resident. The jump in July 2025 is the rise in bed rates to the mid-point of the LaingBuisson cost analysis. Annual inflation increases of RPIX plus 1% apply on top, so actual payments will be higher. The vertical axis does not start at zero.
