Guernsey Electricity's standing charge, before and after the 2025 rebalancing
Quarterly standing charge rose from £68.25 to £86.75 in 2025 - equivalent to £347 a year, against Ofgem's GB price cap of £188, which does not apply to the Channel Islands.
Read this with the chart: A before/after pair plus one external comparator, not a time series. The revenue-share change (12.5% to 15%) is stated in the STSB's own answer, but the pound figures come from Deputy Matthews' question - the Board did not restate or dispute them in its reply. The Ofgem GB price cap does not apply to the Channel Islands and is shown for scale only, not as a claim that Guernsey should be bound by it. GEL's 'before' annual figure (£273) is our own arithmetic on the £68.25 quarterly charge, not stated as an annual figure anywhere in the source.
