Aneurin Brown is Chief Executive of Hallmark Luxury Care Homes, a family-run provider of 23 care homes in England and Wales. He joined the group in 2014.
BIOGRAPHY
Aneurin Brown, known as Nye, is Chief Executive Officer of Hallmark Luxury Care Homes (Hallmark Care Homes), a family-run provider with 23 care homes in England and Wales. He also leads Santhem Residences, the group's luxury retirement village brand. He took the chief executive role in January 2025 after almost three years as Managing Director. Avnish Goyal CBE co-founded the group and chairs it.
Brown joined Hallmark in February 2014 as a hospitality services manager. He started at Greenhill Manor, a 120-bed home in South Wales. He moved into health and safety in 2016 and became head of health and safety and estates in 2017. Regional manager and regional director roles followed in 2019, then operations director for England in 2020 and group operations director in 2021. Hallmark named him chief operating officer in November 2021 and managing director in March 2022.
In April 2023 he told Care Home Professional that he had never planned to run the company: "never say never, and keep your options open." He said the group had introduced the Real Living Wage in Wales in 2022. After becoming chief executive he set out a five-year plan that combines new-build homes with acquisitions of existing homes, as he described to the Care Management Show in October 2025.
His route into care was unusual. He worked as an operations manager at the Maes Manor Hotel in Blackwood from 2004 to 2011, took freelance stage management and television production work in Wales, and was event services manager at BBC Studios in Cardiff from 2012 to 2014. He holds a BA in Creative Media from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David and has volunteered as technical director of Blackwood Little Theatre.
Brown is a chartered health and safety professional, the Nominated Individual for CQC and the Responsible Individual for Care Inspectorate Wales, and holds a Diploma in Corporate Governance from the Corporate Governance Institute. He is a trustee of Care England (appointed January 2024) and of the Goyal Foundation, an ambassador and board member of Championing Social Care, and chair of Care Sector's Got Talent. He won the Executive Care Home Leader award at the Social Care Leadership Awards in 2022 and Executive of the Year at the Leaders in Care Awards in 2023.
