Joannah Bishop owns and runs Better Care at Home East, a home care provider in the Bournemouth area, and is listed on the group's own site as Owner and Registered Manager. She is also a director of Better Care at Home Limited, which she runs in partnership with Rowan Jackson. Companies House shows both appointed on 10 November 2015. Jackson is registered manager of the West branch in Dorchester.
Her earlier career was in radio. A Bournemouth Echo report in February 2007 named her as area station director at Fire 107.6, and her own site says she managed radio stations in London and the south west, then owned a community radio station in Poole and ran a digital marketing company. Companies House lists her as a director of Dorset Community Radio Ltd from 15 October 2014 to 11 November 2016. The site says she holds a CIM qualification in marketing and business and has chaired women's networking groups.
In care, she is trained to Gold Standard in End of Life Care and holds a Distinction Diploma (levels 3 and 5) in Health and Social Care, plus certificates in dementia care. In January 2018 the Dorset Echo reported that the Dorchester branch had received an Outstanding rating in its first CQC inspection, with a team of 12 at the time.
