Clue

Cycle & fertility tracking app

Women's & family health

Clue, made by Berlin's Biowink GmbH, is a science-backed period and cycle tracking app used in 180 countries.

The read

Clue was one of the earliest cycle-tracking apps to position itself on scientific rigour and data-privacy grounds, distinguishing it from more lifestyle-oriented competitors. Leadership changed in September 2024 when long-time CEO Audrey Tsang stepped down and Chief Product Officer Rhiannon White, a former Shazam and BBC product leader, was appointed CEO.

The company closed a new funding round in January 2026, its most recent injection of institutional capital as it continues to compete for share in a crowded femtech tracking market.

The Bridgehead view

Clue's brand equity is built on being the "clinically credible" alternative to larger rivals, but that positioning is a harder monetisation story than a more consumer-lifestyle-driven leader, which is likely why fresh funding was needed in early 2026 even after a decade in market.
