Building a consumer health brand?
We run PR for companies in this market: from category launches and funding announcements to regulatory communications and the press cycle that comes with selling directly to consumers, employers or insurers.
Meditation, sleep & mindfulness app
Headspace is a consumer meditation, sleep and mindfulness app that also connects members to coaching, therapy and psychiatry through its Headspace Care telehealth arm.
The read
Headspace built its name on guided meditation and sleep content before its 2021 merger with behavioural-health provider Ginger created Headspace Health, adding a therapy and psychiatry access layer sold through employers and health plans. The consumer app remains the flagship product, but subscriber numbers have reportedly softened from their pandemic-era peak.
Tom Pickett, previously Chief Revenue Officer at DoorDash and CEO of Crunchyroll, took over as CEO in August 2024, and the company has since made a run of small AI-mental-health bolt-on acquisitions alongside continued speculation about a sale or IPO.
The Bridgehead view
Headspace's strategy now hinges on proving the Ginger merger's B2B2C therapy layer can outgrow a maturing, increasingly saturated consumer meditation market.
