Building a consumer health brand?
We run PR for companies in this market: from category launches and funding announcements to regulatory communications and the press cycle that comes with selling directly to consumers, employers or insurers.
Smart ring for sleep & recovery tracking
Oura makes the Oura Ring, a finger-worn sensor and subscription app that tracks sleep, readiness and activity for consumer wellness rather than clinical diagnosis.
The read
Oura's ring-form wearable tracks sleep stages, heart-rate variability and daily "readiness" via a subscription app, positioning itself against wrist-worn rivals on discretion and battery life. In late 2025 it signed a strategic collaboration with Cigna Healthcare, under which some Cigna employer clients now provide eligible employees a free Oura Ring 4 and membership, extending its reach from consumer retail into payer-subsidised wellness.
The company raised $900m in October 2025 at an $11bn valuation and has confidentially filed for a US IPO, while relocating its corporate structure to a San Francisco-based US parent to access American capital markets.
The Bridgehead view
Oura's pivot toward payer and employer distribution rather than pure direct-to-consumer retail signals where the whole wearables category is heading next: from a gadget purchase to a subsidised benefit embedded in health insurance.
