Applied AI and decision intelligence (acquired)

Health data & AI platforms

UK applied-AI company that built NHS COVID-19 forecasting tools and decision-intelligence software, acquired by Accenture in 2026 in the largest-ever purchase of a private UK AI startup.

The read

Faculty built AI strategy, safety and enterprise decision-intelligence software, and delivered NHS COVID-19 forecasting tools for the UK's Joint Biosecurity Centre alongside other government AI contracts. In January 2026 Accenture agreed to acquire the company, with the deal reportedly valuing it at over £600m, the largest acquisition of a privately held UK AI startup on record according to Dealroom.

The deal completed in March 2026, with Faculty's more than 400 AI professionals integrated into Accenture and co-founder Marc Warner becoming Accenture's chief technology officer.

The Bridgehead view

Faculty's exit is the clearest signal yet that global consultancies see UK-built applied-AI teams, particularly ones with public-sector delivery credibility, as acquisition targets rather than competitors; expect more of this sector's independents to end up inside a Big Four or Accenture-scale buyer.
