BIOGRAPHY

Ameet Kotecha is the founder and Managing Director of Boutique Care Homes, a family-run group that builds and operates residential and dementia care homes in the south of England. The group has five homes open, in Surrey, Suffolk, Kent and West Sussex, and three more in development in Kent and Berkshire. The group's own materials call him Founder and Managing Director; his LinkedIn profile uses the title Founder and Head of the Family.

Kotecha spent two decades in care home development before starting his own group. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was Managing Director of Churchgate Services from 1999 to 2018, a company that acquired land and built homes for older people, mainly in the south of England. From 2006 to 2015 he was also Managing Director of Churchgate Healthcare, which ran nursing and residential homes in the South East and held NHS block contracts. In a 2024 podcast he described his experience as 20 years of designing, developing and operating care homes.

Boutique Care Homes opened its first home, The Burlington in Shepperton, Surrey, in January 2019. Brampton Manor in Newmarket, Chartwell House in Broadstairs and Keymer Hall in Burgess Hill followed, and Martello Manor in Hythe welcomed its first residents on 22 June 2026. Catherine Grove in Deal is due in 2027, with Evendon View in Wokingham and Townsend Chase in Maidenhead due in 2028. Kotecha says he started the group after watching his own parents age and wishing they had had a better quality of life. The group developed a dementia approach it calls Nostalgia Care and a Life Enrichment Programme, and says every home inspected by the CQC is rated Good in all five categories.

Kotecha won Executive Care Home Leader (Small to Medium) at the Social Care Leadership Awards in October 2025. Under his leadership the group won Care Home Group of the Year (Small) at the National Care Awards in 2023 and 2025, according to the group. He has written for the group's site on staff culture and on life enrichment. In June 2024 he raised £5,776 for Crossroads Care Surrey in its 'I'm a Director, Get Me Out of Here!' challenge, and was named top fundraiser on the day.
