Rob Martin
Chief Executive Officer, Signature Senior Lifestyle
Rob Martin is CEO of Signature Senior Lifestyle, the luxury care home group in the South of England. Former Managing Director, Care Services at Anchor.
BIOGRAPHY
Rob Martin is Chief Executive Officer of Signature Senior Lifestyle, a luxury care home group in the South of England. The group announced his appointment in June 2025 and he joined in November 2025. At the time it ran ten homes. Hornchurch opened in 2026, with Surbiton and Enfield due before the end of the year, which takes the group to 13.
Martin began his working life in the Armed Forces. He served for nearly seven years as an officer with 40 Regiment Royal Artillery, including a six-month NATO peacekeeping tour in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After leaving, he took a certificate in personnel practice, became an Associate Member of the CIPD, and moved into social care around the turn of the century as the registered manager of a care service in the North West.
He joined Anchor, the not-for-profit housing and care provider, in October 2013 as Director of Care Quality. In January 2021 he became Managing Director, Care Services, when he was responsible for 121 care homes. Care Talk's 2024 Social Care Top 30 entry records that the portfolio grew from 114 to 120 homes under his leadership and that he introduced digital care planning across it. His speaker biography adds that Anchor acquired Halcyon Care Homes (11 homes), paid the Living Wage Foundation rate to all colleagues and opened one of the first carbon neutral care homes in the country. He completed the King's Fund Top Manager Programme in 2016 and 2017, and sat on the board of the National Care Forum until November 2025.
At Signature he has set out two priorities: growth in Greater London and the South East, and a wellness strategy built on four pillars (rest and renewal, meaningful living, active lifestyle and culinary vitality). In an August 2026 interview with Care Home Professional he said staff retention had improved by around five per cent since he arrived. He was shortlisted for Care Talk's Social Care Top 30 in 2024 and again in 2026.
