BIOGRAPHY
Jo Barry is the founder and Managing Director of Platinum Care Group, also styled Platinum Care Solutions Group. The group runs three home care agencies: Platinum Care Solutions, with its head office in Portchester, Hampshire, and an office on Hayling Island; Acre Care, in Worthing and West Sussex; and Safe Harbour Homecare, in Petersfield. The group describes itself as the largest independent care group on the south coast.
The group's website says Jo Barry founded the business in 2004, and LinkedIn dates the Managing Director role from April 2004. Before that, LinkedIn shows recruitment roles at AMEC and AMEC SPIE between 2001 and 2005, after a degree course in linguistics and business at the University of Wolverhampton. Companies House lists Jo Barry as a director of Platinum Care Solutions Limited from 5 February 2007, of Safe Harbour Homecare Limited from 1 March 2019 and of Acre Care Ltd from 3 July 2020. A further appointment, as a director of Trustees of the Platinum Care Solutions EOT Limited, dates from 25 November 2025.
Jo Barry was the guest on the Evolve to Succeed podcast in May 2023, in an episode titled "Empathetic leadership". In 2024 Jo Barry sat on the judging panel of the Homecare Awards, alongside Jane Townson of the Homecare Association, Ben Ashton of GoodOaks Home Care and Nick Barker of Avanti Care.
